a 5.2 MW project in Charlotte, NC (PPA with Duke Energy). All 5 prior projects involved sale of electricity under long-term power purchase agreements (PPA) and/or renewable energy certificates (RECs) producing power from food scraps generated by commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. The BGC team developed 5 biogas projects at Orbit Energy prior to launching BioGas Corp as a spin-off in 2016. Each project deploys a best-in-class anaerobic digestion technology with a bankable performance guarantee. While BGC has exited out of several of its projects over the years, it is continuing to develop multiple projects with a develop, own, and operate business model.

These projects operate under long-term (15 to 10 year) off-take agreements with investment grade utilities and petroleum refiners. These include food waste to electricity projects in North Carolina, Rhode Island, California, and New York as well as animal waste to electricity/renewable natural gas in North Carolina, Oregon and Colorado. The BGC team has been developing large scale biogas projects since 2011.
